In recent years, Central has become a popular location for young expats looking to live in the midst of the action! The districts of Soho and Noho (South and North of Hollywood Road) have seen many refurbishments of the older “Chinese” (walk-up) buildings, often above shops or restaurants. Many of these renovated units are studios & one beds, and have been renovated in contemporary styles with open plan kitchens & western-style bathrooms.  They are often offered fully furnished to appeal to the younger set looking for an alternative to a serviced apartment. The streets in Central can be quite congested and sometimes noisy, but this all adds to the buzz of living in the heart of the city. There are also several serviced apartment blocks in Central, close to the Central Business District.
